Dear GAA Fan,
Welcome to the first ever ItsaboutGAA.com Ezine. First off I’d like to thank everyone who has signed up to ItsaboutGAA.com. ItsaboutGAA.com went live 23 days ago and the signup response has been terrific so far. In order to continue with this great response I will continue to promote this site as best I can. I’ll also need a hand from you guys too! If you have any GAA fans that are in the family, at the club, on the team or in the pub that would be interested in signing up to this ever growing online GAA population, then please invite them along. You can easily do this invitation by simply clicking the invite tab at the top of the homepage. You will then be taken to a couple of text fields where you can enter in your email adresses and write a short message asking those people to sign up to ItsaboutGAA.com.
Its great to see some of the users already taking action and joining groups, uploading GAA photos, posting comments etc. The whole idea about this site is interaction amongst us all… So please don’t be shy to express your views (Within reason) about GAA and topics you’d like to talk about. You can do this by writing a blog, creating a forum post, creating a photo album, joining or creating a group etc. As you will see, I have made some blogs and posted some topics on the forums too. I look forward to seeing others in action with their blogs, photos and forum posts too!
One thing that users may not know about is the RSS News feed feature on the home page. Just under were it says “GET INVOLVED”, there is a small text link called “Add new box” By clicking on this text link, you will be directed to a new window. In this new window are various RSS News Feeds that you can use on your homepage. You simply click on the RSS feed you wish to subscribe too. Once you click your chosen RSS news feed, you will be directed back to the homepage and the RSS news feed will load up and present you with more GAA stories for you to read. Bare this in mind, some of the publications may not have GAA news all the time, or the news feed may also include other sports. In the future there will be more online publications that will offer RSS feeds and I will certainly included them when the time comes.
So finally, thanks again to everyone that has signed up to the site and has started to create profile pages of themselves and their clubs, making friends, networking amongst us all is what this site is all about. I welcome all suggestions and comments if anybody has any? You can contact me anytime – Sean@ItsaboutGAA.com. Remember that what you see and use on this site is only just the beginning of some big and exciting plans I have for this site in the future. But in order to achieve that, the network needs to continue to grow!
Many thanks for your time, don’t forget to post a comment on my page.
Slan
